Get ready to be Slushed

Kirsi Hellsten

Head of Talent Acquisition, Tieto

We're superexcited about our upcoming participation in Slush 2016. Winter is coming - and what better way to stay nice and warm than by taking part in all the awesome collaboration and co-innovation that happens at Slush. We've been planning every detail of our appearance and our program for months now...and it's almost time to spring into action! Two whole days crammed full of interesting, inspirational, engaging topics and trends to enthuse over.

Our presence at Slush is a vital part of our strategic direction to be agile and innovative, thereby strengthening our offering to our customers. Slush is a fast-paced environment that fosters curiosity; it provides us with endless opportunities to connect with one of the world’s greatest business ecosystems; start-ups, investors and journalists (to name just a few) all mingle together in an atmosphere of cutting edge creativity.

As I'm responsible for Talent Acquisition here at Tieto, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the possibility to meet 15,000 future Tieto rock stars at the event. Make sure you stop by our stand to say hi, share your views, and hear all the latest news (we're giving away goodies too!). In the meantime, visit our Slush page to check out our open positions.

One special topic that's close to my heart is DevOps. Tieto DevOps' mission is to continuously improve our existing software solutions with speed and transparency, to conveniently deliver the future. The big question is: how are we able to do this? According to pretty much any source, a culture consists of a set of customs, beliefs, values, and social behavior that's shared by a group of people at a particular time. Taking this into an organizational context, an organizational culture is similarly a set of beliefs, values or ways of working shared by the people in an organization. Culture defines not only the values, but also the norms (that is, the behavior) of this group. So, to change the culture at its core means that we need to change both our values, and the norms that govern those values. We at Tieto believe that this is accomplished through a human-centered community.

One key reason for a DevOps community to exist within Tieto is the ability to bring together professionals from around the world.  At Slush 2016 we're kicking off our external DevOps network - and we're inviting you to join this network. The next DevOps event will be organized in January/February 2017, at our fabulous new HQ; the only way to get access to this exciting event is to come and visit our stand at Slush. Our DevOps gurus are at your service, and they can't wait to take part in some great discussions and knowledge sharing.  Come and challenge our views! You can leave your contact details with us by using the handy SMS service that's available at our stand.

As my colleagues say, we've got some pretty cool stuff here at Tieto, and we will rock your world - just like we rock out every day. For inspiration, and some serious rock 'n’ roll vibes, check this out:

It may sound cheesy...but let’s rock! Come and visit our stand at Slush, and get ready to be wooed by our clever, extraordinary and talented people. It could be you in the future! See you at Slush!
